  • To act as facilitator for Computer needs of various Departments 

   
 
  • To impart Computer literacy to teaching and non teaching employees of this University

 
 
  • To organize training programmes and workshops on computer applications in various fields.

 

 

Courses      
 

1.Certificate Course in Computer Applications & Office Administration

 
   

The Computer Cell, PS Telugu University, is offering three months certificate course in "Computer Applications & Office Administration". The eligibility for admission into the course is S.S.C. or its equivalent qualification. This course is intended to train candidates who are seeking employment as Office Assistants.  This course is also useful for the candidates who are employed in different corporate, private and Govt. offices. 

 
 

Apart from these, the course is helpful for those who want to learn basic skills in operating personal computers and using internet (browsing, email etc).  The fee for this course is RS.2,500/- and classes will be held for 5 days in a week from 3 to 5 P.M. (1st batch), and 5.30 to 7.30 P.M. (2nd batch).

2. This cell also intends to start a Diploma course in Multimedia.

 
 

Other Activities

 
 
  • This Cell in collaboration with Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies, University of Hyderabad has compiled an "English - Telugu Electronic Dictionary" with the help of the Teaching Staff of this University. This Dictionary is useful for machine translation.

 
 
  •  This Cell organized one workshop on "Field Linguists Toolbox" and conducted two training programmes on Computer fundamentals for teaching and non-teaching staff of the University.

 
 
  • UGC has sanctioned Information Networking (INFONET) scheme to the University. Under this scheme Internet through broadband with 128 kbps is available in the University. All the departments in the University are connected through LAN. With this Internet is made available to all the Departments.
