It is the most special university for Telugu people touching upon their cultural and linguistic needs. It is named after “Amarajevi” Pottisreeramulu who has laid down his life for the formation of Telugu state.
This university is the brain child of former Chief Minister, Dr N.T.Rama Rao. Established on December 2nd 1985, PSTU is located in the historic city of Hyderabad. Another four constituent centers of the university located in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states are School of Folk and Triballore-Warangal, Nannyya Sahitya Pitam-Rajamandry, Sri Siddhendra Yogi Kala Pitam-Kuchipudi, School of History, Culture and Archaeology-Srisailam.
It provides quality training, teaching and research leading to diplomas, master and doctoral degrees in innovative and traditional courses. The university’s mission is to promote a dynamic mindset in the field of higher learning and research apart from protecting Telugu folk, tradition, culture, literature and mother language.
